Turkey tomato bake
A family favourite easy baked dinner that reminds you of a pasta dish.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 500g turkey mince
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp Italian herb seasoning
- 1 jar marinara sauce (without sugar)
- A 2 inch ball of mozzarella, torn
- Basil, torn
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180c.
Step 2
Heat a large pan with 1 tbsp olive oil over medium high heat.
Step 3
Once hot, add the onion and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring to avoid sticking
Step 4
Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds
Step 5
Add the turkey mince in the pan, and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
Step 6
Season with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, italian and herb seasoning. Stir to combine.
Step 7
Cook for about another 5 minutes until cooked through.
Step 8
In an oven proof dish, add the turkey mince, then the marinara sauce, then the mozzarella, and then the basil.
Step 9
Cook in the oven for 15 minutes, when it should have a crispy top.
