Spicy five spice turkey

Ingredients

  • 500g diced turkey or chicken breast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp five spice 
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder 
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced 
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 2 red chillies, cut into matchsticks 
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari 
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar 
  • 1 tsp hot sauce or sriracha (more if desired) 
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp fish sauce 

Instructions

Step 1

Season your turkey with salt, white pepper, five spice, onion powder and garlic powder.

Step 2

In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium high heat.

Step 3

Once hot, add the garlic, onion, ginger and chilies. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring to avoid sticking.

Step 4

Add in the diced turkey and cook for about 8 minutes, stirring to make sure all sides are cooked.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, hot sauce, sesame oil and fish sauce

Step 6

Add the sauce to the pan and stir to combine

Step 7

Serve hot with vegetables
