I really love Japanese flavours and this grilled tuna steak cooks really quickly and is so healthy! I feel quite fancy eating seared tuna at home so it’s definitely a great date night dish.

Ingredients
  • 2 large tuna steaks
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Sesame seeds to coat the outside of the steaks
  • Olive oil
Needed kitchenware
Instructions

1.

Mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, fish sauce, ginger, garlic, rice vinegar and lemon juice.

2.

Marinate your fish with this mixture for at least half an hour.

3.

Heat a grill pan to medium high heat and add a drizzle of oil (1½ tbsp) to coat the pan.

4.

Remove the fish from the marinade and cover each side with sesame seeds.

5.

Sear the tuna for about 1.5 minutes each side. Cook for longer if you like your tuna more well done.

6.

Serve with green vegetables.
