Mongolian Style Beef

I love any recipe that makes me feel like I’m having Chinese takeaway but it’s actually healthy!
Ingredients
  • 2 rump steaks (or whichever you prefer), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot flour (optional - or tapioca flour, both of which you can online or a healthfood store)
  • 1.5 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 chili pepper, thinly sliced
  • 100g spinach

Instructions

Mix together the steak with the soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil and arrowroot flour.

Heat olive oil over medium high deep in a large pan. Once very hot, add the steak and allow to brown on each side, about 3 minutes.

Add the spring onions, ginger, garlic and chili pepper to the pan and stir to combine.

Add the spinach and allow to wilt. Remove from heat and serve with vegetables or cauliflower rice.

Tip
Feel free to add in some other vegetables like chopped green beans or bell peppers. Omit arrowroot flour for first 12 weeks.
