1.
Make the garlic oil by placing 10g garlic and 100g of oil into a small pot and heat it on medium heat. Let it heat up until the garlic slightly burns which takes around 3-5 minutes. After it slight burns, turn off the heat and allow to infuse for another 10 minutes and then sift it out and allow to cool down
2.
Make the salad dressing by whisking the black rice vinegar, the garlic oil, 8g soy sauce, smoked paprika, and mustard until it is well combined and then set aside.
3.
Make the steak marinade by putting the ginger, garlic, 20g soy sauce, rice vinegar, five spice, and 1 tbsp oil into a blender and blend till smooth. Then pour the marinade onto the steak and let it sit for 30 minutes.
4.
After the steak is marinated, heat up a pan on high heat with a tablespoon of oil until it is smoking hot. Place the steak into the pan and cook it for 2 minutes per side to get a medium rare steak (steak should be ½ to 1 inch thick). Once cooked, set it aside to let it rest
5.
Spoon the dressing over the cabbage and serve it together with the steak. Garnish with daun pegaga
