Autumn Apple Crisp
I love autumn spices and this dessert is full of them! An indulgent treat that is still full of fibre and anti-inflammatory spices.

Classic Dishes
Ingredients
Apple Mixture:
- 6 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp all spice
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp arrowroot or tapioca flour (to thicken)
For topping
- 1/2 cup almond flour (ground almonds)
- 1/4 cup butter (or vegan butter)
- 2/3 cup oats
- 1 tsp flax seeds
- 1/4 cup desiccated coconut (optional)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp all spice
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180c. Combine all of the apple mix ingredients. Place the mixture evenly across the bottom of a deep dish.
Step 2
Combine all of the topping ingredients using your fingers to make a crumble type topping.
Step 3
Cover the apples with the topping mixture.
Step 4
Place in the oven for 30 mins. Then cover with foil or lid and continue to cook for another 15 mins.
Step 5
Serve warm!
