Groups
Groups Conduct

Introduction

Your Group is part of your support system here at Roczen. Groups are collaborative environments where you can interact with and learn from your Mentor, patient Champions and other patients at a similar stage of their Roczen journey.

In order to maintain a safe, positive and respectful community, we ask that you please adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

1. Be kind and considerate

  • Show compassion and understanding to fellow Patients, Mentors, and Champions.
  • Avoid judgement and be empathic in your interactions with others

2. Have respect for others

  • Treat every group member with respect, regardless of differences in perspectives or backgrounds.
  • Please refrain from discriminatory language or offensive behaviour.

3. Maintain privacy and confidentiality

  • Do not share personal or identifiable information such as your phone number, email address, date of birth, home address or location information.
  • To help keep everyone safe, please do not use the Group to arrange or encourage in-person meet-ups or to share information intended to facilitate them. As a remote healthcare service, Roczen can only moderate and safeguard interactions that take place within the platform and cannot oversee relationships or meetings outside of it. Posts that seek to arrange offline contact may therefore be removed by our moderation team.
  • If other members share their experiences or personal information within the Group, please respect their privacy and do not share this elsewhere without their explicit consent.

4. Practise active listening

  • Acknowledge contributions made by others and recognise it can be difficult to share personal experiences
  • Foster an environment where everyone feels heard and valued.

5. Contribute mindfully

  • Ensure contributions relevant to your Roczen health journey
  • Be mindful of message length and avoid sharing excessive details to ensure a healthy conversation flow for all Group members.

Image Sharing: To help maintain a safe and respectful environment for all patients, any photos shared within the group should be of the patient themselves. Images of friends, family members, or other individuals should not be shared. When sharing photos, please ensure you are appropriately clothed. Photos should not be taken in underwear, reveal nudity, intimate body areas, or any other explicit or sensitive content. This helps protect everyone's privacy and keeps the group a comfortable space for all patients.

6. Embrace diversity and inclusivity

  • Celebrate the diverse cultures and perspectives within the Roczen community.
  • Understand that our strength lies in respecting each other's unique experiences and opinion

7. Give feedback constructively

  • If you are asked to provide feedback, ensure it is constructive and non-judgemental.
  • Frame your responses so that they support others and avoid being too critical.

8. Avoid giving or seeking personal medical advice

  • Groups are environments you can discuss and share your experience of the Roczen programme and your journey, but please avoid seeking advice for medical issues.
  • Even if you are a medical professional, please leave medical guidance to our friendly in-house clinical team!

If you have a medical concern, please contact your Roczen clinician, your GP or 111/999.

9. Report any abuse or inappropriate content

  • Use the reporting functionality to flag any abusive or inappropriate content

How our Groups are Moderated

Mentors play a crucial role in maintaining the support, integrity and focus of the Group and are here to help you get the most out of your experience. Please understand that your Mentor may sometimes need to guide the direction of the conversation, or remove messages that breach our guidelines.

Please be aware that failure to abide by this code of conduct or inappropriate behaviour will be addressed promptly, and may lead to restricted or revoked access.

We thank you in advance for adhering to these guidelines. We hope that this Code ensures that - together - we foster a Roczen community characterised by support and respect.
